Vertical transportation is one of the key aspects in designing a new building. Any building can relate to a city, where each floor is a district, and the elevators / escalators are the roads connecting them. Without thorough consideration of the vertical transportation, the building cannot function effectively. Similar to a city with roads of insufficient capacity, an improper elevator design results in long lines in the elevator lobbies and reduced productivity.
During the design process we review architectural drawings, conduct elevator traffic analysis, prepare schematic design and design development reports, including the information on the related building services (electrical and fire alarm, mechanical, structural, etc.) which are necessary to properly integrate the elevators and escalators into the building infrastructure.
Once the elevator design is complete, we offer specification services and construction documentation review. We can also be engaged for the administration and / or special inspections, to identify any potential issues during the construction and see the project through to the final inspection.
